One would put Perth as the best of both worlds. Perth was once often overlooked by travellers since its the most isolated city in the world. But after shrugging away from its “Dullsville” stigma, Perth has gone through some drastic changes that have seen Perth making its way into travellers' must-visit cities. Today, you can find some fine arts and culture, parks and recreational spots as well as great food with delightful coffee to wash it all down. Once you travel to Perth, you can expect near-permanent blue skies, outstanding beaches, spectacular weather, and picnics at Kings Park.

If you were to travel to Perth, it would be almost criminal not stroll around Perth's beaches or dipping your feet into their waters. Expect to have your breath taken away at any of the beaches lining Perth's long coastline, where pale sands meet turquoise water so transparent you can see your feet, no matter how deep you swim. Perth City Beach: If you're staying in Central Perth, this beach is the most accessible for you to soak in the sun or go for a quick jog in the morning. Not only is it just a 5-10 minutes drive (10 km) away from the city centre, Perth City Beach also offers excellent facilities, simple cafes for parents to take in the view by the beach, as well as providing safe swimming conditions for the whole family to enjoy. Cottesloe Beach: One could say Cottesloe Beach is the "poster boy" for the beaches in Perth. And it's easy to see why. Their feather-soft golden sands, clear blue waters from the Indian Ocean, its long stretch of Norfolk pines sprawling across the seaside, this beach charms all those who come to visit for the first time or even for the umpteenth time. You can drive to Cottesloe Beach which is 23 minutes away from the City Centre, or you can reach there by bus or train for $5-$7 (approximately RM14.21-RM19.10).

If you’re looking for some respite from the narrow allies and closed quartered skyscrapers, Perth's strikingly green open spaces are just the perfect place for you to visit. Parks in Perth are scattered all over the city with its tall trees, well-manicured garden grasses and wide-open lawns would make you want to make you lay down a picnic rug and slow down the time. Here some picture-perfect parks for you to visit in Perth: 

Kings Park: These 990 acres landscaped heavenly garden is also one of the largest inner-city parks in the world (larger than New York's Central Park). Located just slightly south-west of the City Centre, Kings Park is where you can find the Botanic Gardens and 3,000 species of native flora and fauna as well as impressive views of the city and the Swan River as you walk on the Lotterywest Federation Walkway among the tall eucalyptus tree canopy. Lake Monger: This is one of Perth’s most delightful parklands and also home to the famous black swan. The lake is blessed with spacious greenery, wide walkways, and cycle paths making it popular among locals who want to do some morning exercise. With Perth's pleasing weather, Lake Monger is also the perfect place for a picnic. You can find this park in the suburb of Leeder Ville, which is a 10-minute drive from Perth's City Centre.

Perth's increasing Muslim tourism coupled with its multicultural background has forced Perth to up their halal food game. Now, you can find bakeries, fast-food restaurants, cafes, Western and Asian restaurants with Western Australia Halal Authority certificate at their door. You can even find restaurants serving Malaysian cuisines! Here are some of the halal restaurants you can look for:

Insan's Cafe: This restaurant is a Malaysian restaurant that serves authentic Malay cuisine. So, if you're missing that Malay taste when you’re in Perth, this restaurant serves nasi goreng (fried rice), noodles, satay and even roti canai! For some middle eastern flavour, we would recommend you to visit Istanbul Turkish Restaurant. You can find typical Turkish meals such as kebabs and mint tea here. The portion of food served here can satisfy any hungry stomach. Although Perth enjoys mostly sunny days, there are definitely some months that we would recommend for you to visit. The best time that we would recommend you head to Perth is during Spring which runs from September-November. During spring is where you can stop and smell the flowers as they bloom in Kings Park and have a lovely time walking around Elizabeth Quay. You can also find various flower festivals during spring as well. Temperatures during spring can reach a high of 20° and a low of 11°. Hotel prices are the highest during this time of the month.

The second-best time to visit Perth is during Autumn which runs from March to May. There are fewer crowds during autumn compared to Spring. So, if you want to break away from the crowd, get cheaper prices for hotels and also ideal weather for water activities, Autumn is your best bet. Summer which runs from December to February can get scorching hot as high as 30°C and a low of 17.5°C. In contrast, winter which runs from June to August can bring heavy downpours and also thunderstorms.
