Kuantan is the perfect destination for those who are looking for a quick beachside retreat. This seaside town puts out some of the most laid back that is neither too idyllic nor too overdeveloped. Kuantan does not boast grandiose tourist attractions, but its local delights and scenery do deserve your time for a day or two without spending big. Very few beach town in Malaysia offers such relaxed scenery. 

In Kuantan you can find its most iconic beach just 5km away from its city centre. Teluk Chempedak offers a fine strip of soft sand where locals enjoy the breeze with sundaes and frappuccinos on once hand while night markets and street performances add to the festival-like atmosphere. Locals here will just hang-out with their feet in the sand or just spend time with their families doing seaside activities. 

Food In Kuantan is also a delight not to missed. The local delicacy Tempoyak Ikan Patin is a traditional Malay cooking where fermented durian paste would bring out the best of the fish’s tender and fatty flesh. The prices for food can be considered quite cheap as compared to the prices in Kuala Lumpur.
