About the MATTA Fair
This event is being touted as the number 1 travel fair in Malaysia. The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair is held yearly at all states around Malaysia. The fair features cheap promotions and discounts for travel packages for every destination around the world.
The largest is held in Kuala Lumpur in March and September and always held for 3 days from Friday to Sunday at the PWTC.
The exhibition in Kuala Lumpur occupies about 29,000sqm and takes up 7 halls: Hall 1, 1M, 2, 3, 4, 5 & Linkway. There are over 1,300 booths, over 200 exhibitors (travel agents account for about 750 of those booths), over 10 major National Tourism Organisations (NTOs) and is attended by over 100,000 people very event.
Hall 4 & 5 feature domestic packages from travel agents, hotels and attractions. The tourism boards of each state also attend including, Sabah, Sarawak, Johor, Selangor, Pahan, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah and Terengganu. Tourism Malaysia also exhibits in these halls. Hall 3 is below halls 4 & 5. This is where you can buy cheap international tour packages, cruise packages and flights. Popular destinations include Europe, Korea, Japan, Vietnam and many more. Packages around the world are sold here.
Hall 1 is the largest hall and is nearby to Hall 2. The Linkway links both these halls. These 3 halls sell international tour packages, cruise packages and flights. National Tourism Organisations are also in Hall 1. You can usually find Taiwan, Korea, Japan and many more here. You can redeem free gifts from them or know more information about their country here.
Above this is Hall 1M which is the best place to find an Umrah package. All exhibitors selling Umrah is here along with the main stage.
This complimentary event offers travellers an amazing opportunity to compare great travel deals all in one area. The first ever MATTA Fair online was held in September 2020. featuring both domestic and international packages. The inaugural online MATTA Fair had about 100 exhibitors, and national tourism boards participating, and have over 3,500 tour packages and travel offers for sale. The first online fair had travel agents from all states in Malaysia offering holidays, from Johor, Kedah, Kuala Lumpur, Meleka, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, and Selangor.
