This long and slender country is divided into three zones. North, central and south. The south generally receives more rain and enjoys a tropical climate. However, Hanoi and those further up north experiences cooler weather due to its mountainous terrain.

What is the best time to visit Vietnam?

There is not really a right or wrong time to visit Vietnam as during most months of the year you will experience both sunshine and rain to a varying quantity. But generally speaking, autumn (Sept-Dec) and spring (March and April) are probably the most favourable seasons if you’re planning to enjoy Vietnam's great outdoors.

Can I travel to Vietnam by just speaking English?

Generally, it should be fine to travel to Vietnam by just speaking English. Touristy areas and major cities are where you can find locals who can speak English as well. But things can get slightly difficult once you reach rural regions of the country. But learning a bit of Vietnamese wouldn't hurt. Locals would definitely appreciate that!
